6 Key Must Haves for Your Blog, and 4 Reasons (that is, excuses) Why You Aren’t Blogging

Here’s some great information on blogging that I learned from Ray Higdon on Top Earner Success School (TESS).

Whether you currently blog, or are contemplating blogging, here is some key info

– If you currently blog, measure your blog against the 6 key “must haves”. How did you do?

– If you want to blog, and haven’t started, how do the reasons/excuses match up?

Let’s start with the “reasons” you aren’t blogging:

1. I don’t know what to say and who would listen to me? if you have followed any serious bloggers, you probably have picked up more information than most folks
2. What should I talk about on line? Well. it depends who you want to attract. You probably should post what teaches your readers, rather than what makes you feel good.
3. I am uncomfortable with the technology. The good news – you can hire that out for very little money.
4. I want it to be perfect. If you wait to get it perfect, you will never start. Just start where you are.

Now, the 6 Key ‘Must Haves” on Your Blog:

1. Your face in the banner – your readers want to know who you are
2. A good giveaway – have a “lead magnet” that your customers just have to have
3. A PS Line – make sure you have something to offer your customer at the end of the post, to monetize perhaps.
4. A blog signature – make sure they have a way to get in contact with you
5. have pictures in your posts – just text is boring and pictures can support your message
6. Be congruent in your content, not all over the map. If you have a consistent theme it gives a reason for your target readers to come back.
