Celebrate your freedom as many have fought and died to give you this freedom.
I love Lee Greenwood’s classic (God Bless the USA) where he sings “I am proud to be an American for at least I know I’m free”.
Let us give thanks to those who have served in our Military and other roles to maintain our rights to be free!
I call down blessing from above on all who have stood for our freedom, and a curse on all those who work to subvert our freedoms.
I do have one thing troubling me on this day of celebration. Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi held in a Mexican jail.
Free Sgt Andrew Tahmooressi
Background News Report:
Tahmooressi served two tours of duty in Afghanistan and now suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression. He moved to San Diego for treatment.
While driving to meet up with a friend on March 31st his nightmare began. He made a wrong turn and ended up crossing the border, with all his belongings, including legally purchased U.S. guns, in his pick up truck.
“I was going to call them after I drove off the exit, but I never got off the exit, I blew right past it,” he told U-T San Diego in an interview from jail. “I wasn’t paying attention, thinking I had way farther to go. I ended up in Mexico with no way to turn around.”
Tahmooressi was arrested and taken to La Mesa prison in Tijuana, Mexico where he’s being held without bail.
Things I don’t understand:
- Why we released 5 terrorist leaders, whose only stated purpose is to shed American blood, in exchange for the release on one alleged American deserter?
- Why we can’t get the release of Sgt. Tahmooressi who served our country with two tours of duty?
- It seems to me that President Obama could pick up his phone and just call President Felipe Calderón of Mexico, our major trading partner, and ask him to secure the release of Sgt. Tahmooressi. How difficult can that be?
As a free American, I can vote. Today I am voting with my wallet!
When I shop at our grocery store, I notice that much of the produce comes from Mexico. I notice Mexican beer in the grocery store as well.
Today, I am voting with my wallet to Boycott Mexican Products, until Sgt. Tahmooressi is free and back on American soil!
Will you join me in this mission?
Thank you for your support for Sgt. Tahmooressi and I wish each and everyone a fantastic Independence Day.
God bless,
Ron
