Do You Recruit on Social Media? how is it working for you?
Just joined a Network Marketing company and the gurus told you to plaster your link all over the net? Email everyone you know, post your link all over Social Media?
Been there, done that, got the tee-shirt. Didn’t that suck?
Well I found people who know how to do it right.
Attraction Marketing vs Repelling Marketing.
I just got off a webinar with my mentor Ray Higdon, and his company was just rated by INC5000 as #754 of the fastest growing companies – I guess he must really know what he is doing and is able to teach it, right?
Here’s my notes from the first part of the webinar, some wisdom bytes of what not to do, and why not to do as well.
If you want to delve deeper than I am able to do in a blog post, hit me up (email, phone, info is below)
What not to post on Social Media:
- Don’t post unsolicited links
- Don’t give away all the mystery by mentioning your company name in your profile
- Most people think you are pitching if you are focused on your company or your product
- They are turned off, they may unfriend you
- If they are open, they will probably google the company before calling you
- Today, we are trained to find things that are negative, so that’s what gets posted online (heck, you can Google “Billy Graham” and find a SCAM article, what chance does your company have?)
- You can find something negative on anything
- And before you have a chance to discover they may be open, they are already blown out of the water
- And to restate: Don’t Post Unsolicited Links!
OK then, How should you post on Social Media
- Post things in a way that makes them curious
- By omitting the name of your company, you become more powerful
- When you mention your company name, you are giving the power to Google (see above)
- Company leaders can post about the company as they are displaying success, it doesn’t work for someone just starting (you)
- The company’s goal is to advertise the company, and that’s what companies do
- Your goal is to attract people to your business, and not to advertise for the company
Some more tips:
- Don’t get defensive, there are people who love to bash MLM
- If you get defensive you are wasting energy and time (in your business and maybe as well in your personal life)
- Focus on people who are looking, searching for a possible solution to their problems
- Don’t bash job holders (why turn off most of the people you talk to?)
- Don’t ever ever ever ever ever send unsolicited links
- The digital version of scanning for junk postal mail is looking for links in emails (delete)

I will post the rest of my notes in my next blog post. Let me know if you would like me to send you my post with the philosophy of properly networking and posting to Social Media.
Hope you enjoyed the info, and please comment with any questions etc.
