Productivity Distractions
What gets in your way of getting things done?
My wife, Barbara, had cataract surgery in both eyes last month. Right from the start, her vision was vastly improved and she got fitted for glasses last week to make it even better.
Cataracts interfere with the focus of light impressions, darkening the scene and allowing reduced information transfer to the brain.
She has gone from barely able to read licence plates to reading the fine print on licence plate brackets, and seeing the detail in flowers rather than a blur of color.
Yesterday she started experiencing vision blockages in her right eye, one month after the surgery. Apparently, a drop of blood appeared in the fluid in the back of her eye, dispersing into thousands of little droplets, and she now sees spider web formations in her right eye. Hopefully, these blood particles will quickly be absorbed by her body.
How’s Your Vision?
Many of us get distracted from our tasks, without a physical cause. I am on a blitz right now and this time away driving her to the doctors and staying with her can distract me from doing what I had planned.
Does that mean that I can’t get it done? No, it means I need to find other creative ways to complete the tasks to meet my schedule.
What has that got to do with you? Hopefully, nothing. Hopefully you don’t let distractions derail you from getting it done.
If you do, I encourage you to focus on your visions and your goals. They are in play, and can guide you to the end zone for the touchdown.
If you are struggling with your vision and goals, comment back and I may have some resources that may help you.
I am looking forward to your success stories, where you have not let distractions block your results!
