Seniorhood – Why Network Marketing?

Ron McLean the Dream Roper

Why Network Marketing you ask?

I may be partial but there is a reason that Donald Trump and Robert Kyosaki consider Network Marketing as “The Perfect Business”.

seniorhood

A primary reason is the low cost of entry. You can generally get started for under $500 which is far less than any of the other business in Chapter #2.

This low cost of entry can be a blessing or a curse. A blessing as you start your business and a curse as many people will not take it seriously when they invest so little.

Why is there so much negative press in Network Marketing? ……It’s Network Marketers….

We have all been approached by someone who has been told everyone needs his business and that he should talk to everyone within three feet. He/she gladly complies and does a verbal dump all over anyone near, and alienates his friends and family with his constant aggressive “marketing”.  Have you ever experienced this “dump”? Have you ever been guilty as well, probably because you were never taught any difference?

Prospecting the Right Way:

What’s the drill? It is simple:

  • find who they are
  • find what they need
  • help them get it

In Network Marketing, you need to listen to people and they will let you know what they need. It may be

  • Their bills are too high (can you help them save money?)
  • Living is getting too expensive (are they interested in learning how to make additional income?)
  • They are overweight or have health issues (maybe you have a nutritional product that can help?)
  • Whatever your product or service, your prospect will tell you what they need if you get them to talk, rather than you assuming everyone needs and wants what you have – they don’t!
  • Reminder: you prospect is not looking for a sales presentation, they are looking for a solution to a problem. Just find out what their problem is.

In Network Marketing, you can leverage your time by helping other people do what you do, and by helping them get started, the company will pay you for your efforts to increase their business. In the long run, you can make more money “teaching people to teach” than you can from just personally marketing the products and services.

An understanding of residual income will help. As your customers reorder product (generally on autoshipment) and your team does what you do, you will get paid this month on what you did last month, and the month before, etc. This growth takes time as you will find at first you will do more than you are getting paid for and later you will get paid for more than you do as your team grows. If you keep working your business, you may start to find that you achieve financial freedom, as your income keeps coming in each month whether you actively do anything yourself. They sure didn’t teach me that in school!

Many books have been written on this subject and we have just scratched the surface here. The good news is that if you keep it simple and do the basics over and over, you can be a very real success story, and create a business that brings in money each month even after you are gone.

 Selecting a Network marketing company:

But there are so many companies out there, so how do I know which one to pick? As this could be the vehicle for your financial success, I recommend selecting wisely.

There are basically three categories of companies:

  • Old companies that have been around “forever” which are very solid but being very mature makes it hard to grow your new business.
  • Startup companies that are running on a shoe-string, and may not be here in another year.
  • Young companies that are positioned for growth and have not yet reached momentum. These present an opportunity to capitalize on the growth expected.

I personally would pick the third category company and also have additional factors which I recommend you consider:

  • Has the owner got a good track record in this industry?
  • Is a seasoned management team in place?
  • Is the owner and the company well-funded so that they will be prepared for explosive growth? – many companies have failed right here.
  • Do they have a consumable product or service, which customers will want to reorder each month, rather than starting fresh the first of each month?
  • Does the company have a product that is unique or different, rather than a “me too” product?
  • Does the people above you in the organization know what they are doing and can they provide the support you need when you start?
  • Are there company restrictions that could impact how you do your business? For instance, I have heard of companies clamping down on their distributors for a legitimate use of the internet when the company was personally uncomfortable with the internet. That may not sound like a big deal but it has hurt some responsible people.
  • Are you part of a team that will support you?
  • Integrity, integrity, integrity – if not, run.

I personally have selected a company that passed these “tests” with flying colors and if you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me. I have chosen unwisely in the past where a company was unable to deal with growth.

I also feel that I have finally been mentored by the right people, with the right information, and am now experiencing “rejection-free” recruiting. If that makes sense to you and you want to be a “rejection-free” business builder as well, let’s talk.

I have packed a lot of information in this post and video, and I hope it has been valuable to you. Please feel free to comment, like and share if you found value

Be blessed,
Ron
