Do you remember doctors recommending that you smoke?
Holy cigarette tar Batman!
Yes, it did happen, but what does that mean to you today? A lot.

Here’s the story:
Don’t be foolish, take your doctor’s advice: Smoke a fresh cigarette.
From the 1930s to the 1950s, advertising’s most powerful phrase—“doctors recommend”—was paired with the world’s deadliest consumer product. Cigarettes weren’t seen as dangerous then, but they still made smokers cough. To allay fears, tobacco brands hired throat “doctors” (that is, models dressed in white coats) to explain that dust, germs or a lack of menthol were to blame, not the cigs themselves.
While nearly every brand used this dubious marketing approach—including Dunhill, whose doctor claimed you could “cut down on smoking” while still firing up a pack a day)—the prime offender was Camel, which cited an incredible study that found “more doctors smoke Camels than any other cigarette.” Turns out, this “independent research” was the work of the William Esty Co., R.J. Reynolds’ ad agency. Participating doctors were paid, too—with cartons of Camels.
Again, why is that important to you today?
Well, I sat in the doctor’s waiting this morning (don’t worry, getting off synthetic meds) and read this article in WebMD.
Now when I have a question, I check WebMD’s website for answers.
You can trust them right, they are there for you?
I copied this from the article (as factual)
To Drink or Not to Drink Diet Sodas
The American Beverage Association said in a statement that the FDA and other health organizations consider artificial sweeteners safe, and no research has shown otherwise .
“Scientific evidence does show us that beverages containing these sweeteners can be a useful tool as part of an overall weight management plan. America’s beverage companies support and encourage balanced lifestyles by providing people with a range of beverage choices — with and without calories and sugar — so they can choose the beverage that is right for them.”
