Blogging Tip #1: The first purpose of blogging is to build your list.

Now this is restating the obvious but sure made me realize that I need to view all facets of my blogging to make sure that it supports building my list. Wow.

Social media icons should be to allow your readers to share your content, not to move off your blog to your social media site.
Social media should move people to your blog, not the other way around.
You need a compelling offer on your blog, to entice people to opt-in to your list.

Blogging Tip #2 – Content Creation (1) What Do I Blog About?

Do you want to learn what your prospects want to see in your blog? Ask them!
Ask the question on your email, your social media, webinars etc.
Host a Twitter Party to get even more answers

Blogging Tip #3 – Content Creation (2) What Do I Blog About?

The Barnes and Noble technique (or any other book store)
Pick up a handful of books to browse and look for lists of info on the subjects of interest to your prospects
This also gets you out of the house to meet people – they are probably looking at books as they are interested in getting more out of life – Bingo!

Blogging Tip #4 – Your Blog Signature

When we looked at Ray’s blog signature, the light went on. How many times had I seen it and not followed his lead?
Insert a thumbnail photo
Add your contact info
Add a call to action – what do you want your readers to do next?
