Let Google Simplify – Goodbye Microsoft

dream roper

How can Google Simplify? How to say Goodbye to Microsoft?

I feel that I am FREE – Microsoft was making my life miserable, thanks Google!

Hello Insightly, Goodbye ACT!

Today I have great news – I feel free, liberated from software!

First, why do I need liberation?

I have used Microsoft Outlook for probably 20 years.

I had used ACT! as a contact management software for over 10 years.

ACT! was bought out by Sage, and started it’s downhill journey. Fist, it stopped integrating properly with Outlook, then Google. Calendars wouldn’t sync. After two years, enough was enough.

My solution, try out Insightly. is Insightly perfect, no. But it does play well with Google and/or Outlook.

Did I give up features I had with ACT? Yes. But overall I am a happy camper.

Maybe you don’t have the issues I had with Microsoft Outlook, and I sure hope not.

Did you ever have a computer crash? Did you ever have a WD backup drive fail? I had both.

As all my business files are critical to me, I signed up for Microsoft Exchange server (Office 265 Outlook) with GoDaddy.

The GoDaddy part was fine, not the Microsoft Outlook.

Did you ever have to actually call Microsoft support? I sure hope not.

When I called 1-800-INDIA, I got a technician who I could not understand, telling me “facts” that I knew to be untrue. he could solve my problem if I paid him $500 for the phone call. I don’t think so!

GoDaddy, although it was not their issue, taught me a work around – I just had to recreate my email account everytime Outlook on my computer would not open.

Finally Outlook had further issues and wouldn’t open, always when I was in a hurry – go figure…

At last – a solution to Outlook! Google!

As I moved one of my primary emails to Google Apps, and linked it to Insightly, I found this was a good solution.

Then I found that I could integrate my primary email to the same account and still send my business emails from my business account, much as I did with Outlook.

I feel liberated! Google is good, Microsoft is bad. And today I see Microsoft bought LinkedIn so who knows where that is going to go.

I just had to share my excitement.
