No Longer a Slave to Fear

I am a child of God

You can be “No Longer a Slave to Fear”

I have added a video link to the song by the same name as a PS below.

First let’s discuss FEAR

* Sometimes disguised as Procrastination

Are you a slave to fear? The creator gave us fear as a means of protection, to escape from danger. Now when was the last time you were chased by a saber-toothed tiger? To the primitive man, fear was a natural reaction.
Today, fear often immobilizes us from non life-threatening situations. Now if a speeding car is closing in on your child playing on the street, fear and the adrenaline created can help you swoop your child from harms way.
Today, fear mostly serves to immobilize us, from taking the actions that we need to take to move forward in life.
“Fear rips us from freedom. it is the destroyer of greatness – Brendon Burchard”
Have you been told fear is a good thing, that it helps make you stronger, that you can use it as motivation?
Some may say “but you don’t understand my situation”, or maybe “what if I fail?”.
I say “what if you try in spite of your fear and succeed?”. If you fear your situation, let me ask you a question – Do you know anyone who is in a worse condition than you?
I propose that if you wish to live a fulfilling life, you need to put fear in the back seat and drive toward your destination.

What do most people fear today?

Most likely it is the fear of failure. What is fear of failure really?
  • Are you afraid that you will look stupid if you try and fail? That’s ego! Don’t worry about what other people might think, they are probably not the one paying your bills, you are.
  • If you try something new, you could get knocked back down, but you only fail if you don’t get back up.
  • An example is that more people are afraid of public speaking than they are of death. Does that mean someone is going to come up from the audience and lay a beating on you if they don’t like what you say? Hardly, so put your ego on the back burner and do what you know you should do to advance.

So what am I saying, that today fear has more do do about our ego than our physical protection? Yes!
We are to love our fellow man, but fear can get in the way, as fear leads to distrust of our fellow man, taking away from our ability to genuinely love others.
“Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. – Helen Keller”
Courage is not ignoring fear, it is acting in spite of fear. What one thing can give you courage and overcome fear?
Faith
  • faith in yourself?
  • I have faith that “greater is He who is within me than he who is within the world”
  • Another way to increase faith and confidence is to act in spite of your fear and you will own the solution.
“Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger, anger to hate, hate to suffering – Yoda”
The good news is that you have a choice. When faced by a difficult, or even non-difficult situation, decide to choose the option of being courageous, rather than succumbing to fear.
Ask yourself this question: What if I avoid action by being fearful instead of acting in courage?
  • will your life be better long term if you act in a courageous fashion?
  • will you have a positive impact on the lives of others if you act with courage?
  • how will you feel if you do the right thing?
  • how will you feel if you don’t do the right thing, and give in to your fears?

How will your New Year be different from your Old Year if you decide to be courageous?

  1. My desire for freedom dictates that I be no longer a slave to fear, as I must act in a courageous manner, with faith, to do what I know what I need to do to advance my goals and dreams.
  2. It matters little what I didn’t do in the past, it matters greatly what I do from this point forward!
  3. Are you willing to commit to your freedom, to be all that you were created to be? If so, perhaps we can link arms and go down the road together, as I like to travel with courageous friends.
