Video blogging Tip: Make your blog more attractive (video bumpers)
I follow Ray Higdon’s blog and the first thing I noticed was the professional graphics on his blog.
The basic structure of your blog should be:
- Introduction (tell them why they should stick around for the rest of the message)
- your blog subject (the meat of your message)
- your call to action (as a result of this message)
The enhanced blog structure would be:
- Brief intro (less than 10 second)
- Your recorded intro (into bumper) with cool graphics (makes you look more professional)
- Your message
- Your call to action
- Your recorded Outro bumper with your contact information
I know that you can find people on fiverr.com or odesk.com who will do this service for a fee. Personally, I took a different approach as I had a friend who produces profession commercials.
Jason and his company Lighting Production Studio put together my into and outro bumpers using images that I supplied. The results are in the graphics you see in my videos. These bumpers are not a necessity, especially if you are just starting out and if your budget won’t stand an additional expense, I would put this idea on the back burner for now.
