Wow, 240 Years of Independence Day!

How did we get here?

Our forefathers left mostly the British Isles and the oppression of the king, including telling them how to worship, and struck out for freedom including the freedom of worship. They established our country based as one nation under God, but respecting the rights of all to worship as they chose.

Eventually the government of England decided to bully and burden the American colonists with unreasonable taxes, tax them into submission so to speak, which sparked a rebellion against taxation without representation, resulting in them dumping the tea into the Boston harbor rather than pay taxes (the original tea party).

These brave Americans continued to risk their lives and all they owned to stand against the government of England and declared our independence. This led to a bitter fight which America won with the help of our allies.

Today as we celebrate Independence Day, we salute our Founding Fathers, both for their courage and their wisdom, to create a republic where the rights of the individual are the priority, in a nation which honors God. Paraphrasing George Washington,  it is not possible to govern this nation without the Bible.

We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Thomas Jefferson

Today we stand at a crossroads:

• our republic is under attack from all sides
• we are in a battle of thought between those who stand for our constitution, and those who hold a more globalist view
• many of our elected representatives make promises to get elected, swear an oath to uphold the constitution, and then betray “We the People” to line their own pockets from special interest groups
• government again wants to burden us with unreasonable taxes
• government again wants to disarm it’s citizens, as attempted by King George in 1775
• the foundations of our country are under attack
  • the Bible and God’s laws
  • our freedom of speech
  • our freedom to defend ourselves against a tyrannical government
  • our property rights
  • our freedom to worship the Lord

I was born and grew up in Canada, where I was also taught American history along with world history. To become a US citizen, I was required to be familiar with the Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and how our government was organized into 3 equal branches as to never more be subject to the abuse of authority of a king. I marvel at how our American educational system has dumbed down our people on these subjects, substituting instead with a politically correct and often global agenda.

Shall we join the Founding Fathers as independent citizens and stand for our Freedom? Or shall we just lay back and become subjects of the king?

I for one came to this country and became a citizen, as I admired the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. That’s why I intend to stand as a child of God and a citizen of the Republic of the United States of America.

I stand for my God-given freedoms as guaranteed as an American citizen, and our freedom to choose to be what God created us to be. 

And an additional note!

This desire for freedom spills over into business.

As individuals, we have the right to strive for greatness, to be all we were created to be.

As a senior, I feel what many seniors feel.

• Can you live on a fixed income when the price of everything is certainly not fixed, leaving you in a fix?
• Are you relegated to Seniorhood, or do you have the spark that fired to you up to create and contribute for many years?
• Are you concerned about leaving a legacy, as well as providing for your senior years?
• Are you ready to do something of significance?
