Do You have a vision, a purpose, goals, a why?
And are they written down? (CLUE – If they are not written down, they really don’t exist)
Why is this important? Well, if you don’t know where you are going, how will you know if you are getting there?
First, are you where you expected to be by now? If not, where did you expect to be. This should be your starting point to determine your five year goals and your vision of where you will be in five years.
Based on that, you need to develop more immediate goals, from one and two years, and back up to where you need to be this month as well.
But, before you start, you need to make sure you identify your core beliefs and values. Your goals should be in line with who you are, or at least with whom you want to become, If you want to achieve more, you most likely need to become more than you are.
Another clue – your goals need to be SMART:
I recently heard a quote that your vision will pull you towards it when you are going through trouble times, and help keep you on course.
With your vision and goals in place, you can now work on your daily plan of action. Be aware that if you don’t identify activities that support moving toward your goals, there will be others pushing you to do activities that support their goals instead.
This can be called the priority of the urgent rather than the important. And if you are married, I am not just talking about what your spouse wants you to do.
Do yourself a favor and consider each activity and ask yourself if this will move you towards your goal, and is in line with your values.
And if you found value in this post, I appreciate you when you comment, like, and share.
Be blessed,
Ron
