Seniorhood – Why Do I Need a Home Business Anyway?

Seniorhood – Why Do I Need a Home Business Anyway??

First a disclaimer: Let me be real clear at the start, a home business is not the right solution for everyone!

Ron McLean,. the Dream Roper

Let’s do a Letterman-style countdown – the 10 reasons for not owning your own home business.

#10.

I don’t like working with other people.

#9.

I don’t know how to run a business.

#8.

I am too busy looking for a JOB.

#7.

Nobody in my family ever had their own business.

#6.

Businesses are only for the rich

#5.

What if I am successful and my friends don’t like me anymore?

#4.

What if I make too much money and lose my health care subsidy?

#3.

I don’t know if I can work long hours.

#2.

I don’t think I could be responsible for my own paycheck.

#1.

What if I lost my welfare benefits?

OK Mr. Letterman, now let’s look at who should start their home business.

#10.

I am sick of living on too little money

#9.

I am tired of making someone else rich with my labor.

#8.

I am sick of watching my nest egg go down or go away

#7.

The only “employee options” are at minimum wage.

#6.

I worked too hard all my life to end up like this!

#5.

Companies no longer show any loyalty to workers.

#4.

Nobody want to pay me what I am worth.

#3.

My family deserves better than where we are at now.

#2.

I want to be in charge of my financial future

#1.

If it’s going to be it’s up to me, and I want leave a legacy!

Tax Code:

And please note that if you are an employee, you are on the wrong side of the tax code. Home business owners have way more deductions than employees.

Even if you are getting Social Security, there is a benefit to increased deductions.

Your Seniorhood Home Business Agenda:

Do you feel that it is time to consider your own business.

Is it time to work on your agenda instead of working on the agenda of someone who doesn’t have your best interest in mind.

As a senior, I am sure that you have contributed your efforts to build the business of others and maybe it is time to build something for yourself?

NOTE: As you read my Letterman list on the reasons to not have your own business, and perhaps feel the government owes you a living, you should drop this book like a hot coal and RUN.

If you are in the 2nd group, ready to take charge, READ ON!!!! Come back tomorrow as we dig deeper into the different types of business available to you.

Be blessed,

Ron
