Seniorhood – Team Building Tips

Why Team Building Tips When I Don’t have a Team?

This topic may not mean as much to you if you are a Solopreneur and working strictly on your own efforts, as you may not be developing a team. If you have employees, however, this certainly does apply.

Ron McLean, the Dream Roper

If you are a Solopreneur, you may participate in networking and maybe even a mastermind, so you may still want to pay attention here.

As you are building a team, you may have the tendency to find people who are very much like you, who think like you, and may have the same skills as you do. There is a risk here as you should be looking for people with skills you don’t have and bringing a diversity of ideas in your business can take you higher than you could climb by yourself.

Henry Ford never graduated from high school but he surrounded himself by people who possessed these skills and thereby built a dynasty.

As you build a team, teach them the success skills they need to grow. Some companies have held back on training based on the thought of “what if I train them and they quit”? Now the obvious answer is what if you don’t train them and they stay?

If you are in Network Marketing, your team is like a volunteer army, and they sure didn’t come into your business looking for a boss. Your job is to determine where they want to go and then help them get there. If you remember you work for them, you have increased the chance for success for them and for you.

As a leader, your job is to provide the vision, and then enroll them into your vision. Obviously, you first must know where you are going if you expect anyone to follow.

A Key Factor for Team Building:

A key factor with your team is recognition. Recognize them publicly for their accomplishments and if they have any actions or traits that require improvement, do that in private. Most people don’t get recognition on their job, at least not positive recognition anyways, so positive and earned recognition goes a long ways to strengthen your team morale.

Don’t lose track of where you are going and get bogged down in the details, your business needs to be fun!

Be blessed,

Ron

Always a tricky think working with your team, especially when you want it more then you do… the key is to support them… work in groups with those less motivated and spend quality time with those really going for it! The cream will rise to the top!

What you are saying is so true. Everyone likes to be recognised and it isn’t just for people hitting the big ranks. Recognition for signing up a customer or even just for the action they are taking makes all the difference.
